Summer is quickly fading. Many of us enjoyed time at the beach this summer. There’s a lot of preparation to go to the beach. We pack up lots of things to take with us, such as:
 
Sunscreen
 
It is so important to pack our sunscreen to protect us from damage due to the strong sun. We don’t want to get burned while we’re having fun at the beach.
 
As Christians, it’s so important that we protect ourselves from the enemy. God has provided the Armor of God for us to put on daily. Read Ephesians 6:11-18. Let’s make sure we don’t go out of our homes without His protection and equipping!
 
Sand Buckets & Shovels
 
How fun it is for us to make sand castles and dig in the sand at the beach. We find lots of treasures such as sea shells, little clams, and sometimes even money.
 
In the same way, we should love to dig into God’s Word. There are so many Treasures available to us as we daily read and think about God’s Word.
 
Sports Equipment/Rafts/Boogie Board
 
Have you ever played paddle ball at the beach? How about Frisbee? Have you thrown around a beach ball or football on the warm sand? Do you love to ride the waves on your raft or boogie board? Playing at the beach is a lot of fun. Sometimes we need to get up and move around a bit!
 
As Christians, we should be up and moving as well. Are you serving the Lord? Are you active in your church? Are you reaching out to your neighbors and friends? We should love to serve others - Jesus is our example!
 
Beach Towels
 
How good it feels to come out of the cold water and wrap ourselves up in a warm beach towel; the softer the better!
 
In the same way, God’s love wraps itself around us, warming us from the cold cares of this world. As Christians, let’s share the warmth of God’s love with others!
 
Sunglasses
 
Without sunglasses, our eyes could be hurt by the bright rays of the sun. If you’re like me, you might need prescription sunglasses so that everything is in focus while you’re at the beach.
 
As a Christian, what are you focusing on? Sometimes the world can be blinding and we need the shade of God’s Word and voice in prayer to lead us in the right direction and to keep us away from the world’s offerings. Let’s stay focused as we live each day, loving God and serving Him and others!
 
The weather’s still warm, so there’s still time to go to the beach. And the warmth of God’s love is for every person - let’s be busy about our Father’s business!
