Read Matthew 14:13-21 and John 6:5-15 (Jesus Feeds the 5,000). The account in John’s gospel, tells us where those 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish came from - a little boys’ lunch!
The account of the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000 is found in all 4 gospels (also in Mark 6:31-44 and Luke 9:10-17). We saw how much compassion Jesus had for the people who followed after Him. He cared about their needs. And, He still does today!
In this lesson, Jesus had compassion on the people who followed after Him in two ways: 1) He healed them and 2) He fed them - even though He was tired and sad from John the Baptist’s death.
What a wonderful heart Jesus has! So far, in “Kingdom J Ranch” Kid’s Church, we’ve learned that Jesus values what’s on the inside of us, the real us; He wants to heal people; He blesses us when we’re going through hard times or when we’re wanting to know Him more; He wants us to know that He is in control of everything; and on Sunday we learned that He has compassion for those who follow Him. No wonder we love Him so much!
