Read Matthew 18:1-5; 10-14. How precious children are to the Lord. Jesus tells the parable of the lost sheep, in Matthew’s account, to explain to the adults around him how much God values children. He had called a child from the crowd to come to Him and told the adults to try to become more like the young one – in faith and trust and humility.
 
At the end of the passage, Jesus says that “in the same way God is not willing that one of these little ones be lost.” Jesus is saying the one lost sheep is like a child and the 99 are like the adults. Many people might think “someone was foolish to risk losing the 99 sheep by leaving them, that you should focus on them – they are the valuable ones and you could afford to lose the one sheep. The kids are so small and not very valuable”. But Jesus says, “NO!” God is not willing that any of these little ones be lost. He does not value the adults higher than children. He is not so busy with the adults that He doesn’t notice when children wander off. God values them, He sees them, and He would go after them. He is not willing that any of them should be lost.
 
The Holy Spirit sent a hush over Kid’s Church as He spoke precious private words to the kids and stirred their spirits towards Himself. Many of them took home a tract - review it with them and talk with them this week about their faith.
